• Victor Webster’s Versatility

Honestly, if it weren’t for Days of Our Lives, I probably wouldn’t have become such a fan of Victor Webster. I mean, I’m so glad he starred in such an iconic show, and I gotta say, TV loves him. There’s something about him that makes him such a good actor. I also loved him in Mutant X and in Continuum, which were two completely different kinds of shows, and he handled them perfectly. But, you know, it’s just him. If you’ve ever seen any of his movies, you’ll know what I’m talking about.

His range as an actor is amazing. He has literally played so many different roles, I’m often aghast whenever I see a new appearance of his. Like in The Scorpion King – have you ever seen that? Ah-mazing. Both films. I mean, I don’t watch action-packed fantasy movies otherwise, but I saw this one because he was in it, obviously.

So, I wanted to talk about his later work. I, like many people, love Christmas movies. So one cozy October night while I was doing my skincare and scrolling through Facebook, I saw that the Hallmark Channel had scheduled to release some Christmas movies that winter starring no other than Victor Webster! I nearly dropped my phone in my newly renovated toilet from ratemytoilet.net! Is there a better combo than your favorite actor in a Christmas movie, and in several consecutive ones, that is? Thank you, Hallmark!

Actually, he had worked with them previously, once or twice, but this time it was a bigger deal, because not only was he booked for Christmas movies, but also for some other regular Hallmark romance flicks. This was the best thing ever.

No need to repeat that I saw them all. I especially liked Home for Christmas Day. It was a wonderful drama. He plays an active-duty soldier in a long-distance relationship. He was amazing, he handled it perfectly, and Catherine Bell who played opposite him as his love interest was really good. I thought they had very good chemistry on screen.

And out of the non-Christmas movies, I really enjoyed Love Blossoms. It’s about a perfume maker, so as a lover of scents, you can imagine my enjoyment, haha! That’s what makes this movie so romantic, so if you’re ever in the mood for a sweet romance flick, give this one a go. It’s pretty light-hearted, perfect for those aromatic spring evenings when the flowers are in full bloom.

    Until next time!

  • Rough Start to the Day

Just take a quick look on line and you will see that he is devastatingly handsome. Calgary, Canada gets the credit for spawning this talented guy of Italian, Spanish, German, French, English and Scottish descent. Whew! That’s a heritage for you. He later moved to California and went to a regional college, only to become a stockbroker. Yes, an investment advisor. Imagine that. He transitioned into acting quite a bit later lucky for his mounting fans. Along the way he mastered martial arts. You will recognize him for the NBC daytime soap Days of Our Lives from 1999-2000, the mutant Brennan Mulwray in Mutant X, Coop the cupid on Charmed, and detective Carlos Fonnegra in Continuum. Fortunately, I have all the tapes so I’m not just watching short clips on Facebook of the best bits.

Good character actors are plentiful but Victor has something special. In 2002, he was listed as one of People magazine’s “50 Most Eligible Bachelors”. I loved him in Bringing Down the House and Sex in the City. Each role shows a different side of him. His many Hallmark movies have extended his audience. I am glad they discovered his appeal. More and more people are getting to know him.

So strange. This morning I was watching Summer Villa where you get to see him in swim trunks. Aah! All of a sudden I heard a barrage of voices. Most of the time nothing can tear me away from Victor, but this dead. I had to pause the tape to find out what was happening. The gas water heater had broken spilling the translucent liquid all over the garage. Panic time. I have a box of memorabilia and CDs housed on a shelf. Thank goodness the water didn’t reach it. It was a rough start to the day; but it was salvaged because I went right back to my movie. Watching Victor always calms me down.

  • His Guest Roles Over the Years

During his acting career, Victor Webster has met with so many producers who loved to feature him in their movies. He has played guest roles in many television shows and movies. His short appearances in many shows added his popularity. As a result, he not only got a request for guest roles but also for starring roles. The guest roles played a part in exposing victor Webster to the acting industry and grew his experience in the industry.

    The following are a few movies he has made an appearance as a guest star;

    1. Sunset Beach.

By the year 1997, Victor Webster was on track and had already made his acting debut with a guest role in a tv series called ‘Sunset Beach.’ Here he was given a chance to appear in three episodes which were not bad for a person who had just started his acting career. Sunset beach is a soap opera that aired on NBC from January 6, 1997, to December 31, 1999.

    1. Gangland.

Did you Webster had a supporting role in Bruce Willi’s Surrogates movie? I too was shocked. In fact, I was really excited to see the movie and I was awed. The movie was amazing.

  • New and recent appearances of Victor Webster

Victor Webster has had a great run in the entertainment scene, and I rank him as one of the best actors who has outweighed all expectation. He has this sense of appeal that is soothing and inviting that leaves his audience craving for more action. • Why I liked Surrogates the Movie

This is a movie for the science fiction fans and unbelievable futuristic worlds where when the impossible happen, it is considered normal. The film was made in 2009 and it is action-packed with a lot of thrilling moments. The movie is PG rated (13 years) and runs for about one hour and twenty-nine minutes. Its premier was received with mixed reviews by critics receiving 6.3 out of ten from the International Movie Database, 38% rating from Rotten Tomatoes and 45%from Metacritic.

The plot of the movie is engrossing: it is set in a futuristic world where human beings live in isolation and do not interact at all but can live vicariously through what is called surrogates – replicas of the human form and mind but in the form of a robot – which can be controlled by the mind of their creator. These surrogate robots present themselves to the world as younger, better, and more attractive than the real person is, and in reality, no one you meet is there in their physical form. Some of these surrogates even go to the gym, so I assume they are fitter than the persons that control them; it’s a bit of a confounding world this movie creates.

When a surrogate is murdered which in effect leads to the death of its human form owner due to some odd linkage through technology, things spiral out of control and the relatively peaceful world created here is thrust into chaos. Greer and his partner, Jennifer Peters of the FBI, are called to investigate the murder and are shocked to find that the victim is the child of the founder of the surrogacy program Dr. Lionel canter. Dr. Canter has grown somewhat disillusioned about his invention of the avatars, and the investigation sends Greer to a community of people called Dreads who reject the programme and have chosen to live with each other in the flesh.

When something goes wrong with Greer’s avatar, and he miraculously survives, he must descend into the streets as his flesh self in all his bald glory to keep working the case of who is murdering the surrogates and their owners. The movie descends into apparent chaos after that with adequate action scenes from Bruce Willis and more solving of puzzles.

The cast of this movie includes the celebrated action actor Bruce Willis as Agent Greer, Radha Mitchell as Agent Peters, Rosamund Pike as Maggie Greer, James Cromwell as Dr. Canter, Victor Webster as Lopez, James Ginty as a young Greer and Devin Ratray as Bobby. The ensemble of this cast was made to boost the image of the movie, specifically the presence of Bruce Willis, a feat that did not work as effectively as may have been anticipated.

Overall, the movie was a great one to watch, and I will admit it was most likely due to Bruce Willis’ part in it, but the action scenes were awesome, the storyline adequately interesting to keep you watching to the end and the camera work was done well. However, the plot may have been a little ambitious for the movie, and many critics have termed it merely unbelievable in a way that would not work with the diversity of the real world.

  • Mutant X

Just recently, Victor got selected to play a starring role as mutant Brennan Mulwray in the television series “Mutant x.” The show is about a team of Mutants who possess superpowers as an effect of genetic engineering. Their mission is to check out and safeguard their fellow New Mutants. The series was shot in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

    Victor Webster as Brennan Mulwray

In the television series, Victor Webster who played as Brennan is the son of a fighter pilot of the Vietnam war, who got arrested, imprisoned and killed after he was flying was shot down flying behind the enemy lines. Brennan’s mother got married again; however, he and his step-father never got along so well. By the time he was ten years old, he had already begun using his skills of boosting cars. He and his childhood friend Cole Thatcher pulled mad skills like racing on stolen cars in icy lakes; there is an instant in the series when Brennan almost died when the car he was driving went through the ice.

    Brennan Mulwray

When Brennan went back to school, he was faced with a court-appointed choice between detention in juvenile and counseling, Brennan chose to see psychologist Dr. Victor Palance. Dr. Victor was the first person who Brennan trusted enough to tell about his new mutant powers. After finishing high school, Brennan went to live in a small apartment with his girlfriend from high school, Becky Dolan, until Becky conned him out of money and dumped him. Brennan’s life included small crimes and grand theft autos. He felt guilty at a point in his life after recommending a friend Denny Logan for a job in a bank which surprisingly turned out to be a set-up, Denny ended up being thrown to jail.

As he was moving his gang up for an armed bank robbery, he saw Emma DeLauro running from the GSA. Unfortunately, when he tried to protect her, he got captured by GSA’s agent Frank Thorne. Brennan decided to join Mutant X after they saved him from the GSA’s captivation. As an electrical elemental, Brennan, also known as “Sparky” can throw tesla coils from his fingers, giving him the ability to jump-start cars and cardiac arrests, electrocute his rivals, and open locks operated electronically. Brennan needs some time of rest between the use of electricity and is not able to use his powers when his body is wet.

It would be right to some extent to say that no one else would play the role of Brennan Mulwray better than Victor Webster did. He made his character and abilities naturally come to life.

You may have seen him on your screen playing the tough but resilient Detective Carlos Fenagra on the TV show Continuum, or as Nicholas Alaiman on Days of Our Lives, because Victor Webster is no stranger to the TV. Though he has not been nominated for any awards regarding during that time, that has never stopped him push his limits. Victor landed the role of Nicholas in NBC’s favorite daytime soap opera Days of Our Lives in 1999, an iconic character that put him on the Hollywood radar for future acting jobs. He left the soap and joined the cast of an action series called Mutant X in 2001 for three seasons, and was featured in People magazine in 2002 as one of the 50 most eligible bachelors.
